Payout Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
This policy explains how professional artists request and receive money recorded in their Akumudzi Bwaiz royalty ledger.
Eligibility
An artist may request a payout when:
- the professional artist account is active and verified;
- the available balance has reached the published threshold;
- identity and payout destination details are complete;
- there is no earlier payout already pending or processing; and
- the relevant earnings are not subject to an active rights, refund or fraud hold.
The default minimum threshold is MWK 250,000. The administrator may change the threshold prospectively and display the current amount in the artist portal.
Payout destination
The artist must provide accurate bank or mobile-money information accepted by the configured payment provider. The name should match the verified artist or authorised business record.
Akumudzi Bwaiz is not responsible for delay caused by incorrect details supplied by the artist. We may request confirmation before changing a payout destination.
Processing
A request moves through pending, approved, processing, paid, failed or cancelled statuses. The artist balance is reduced only after the provider confirms a completed payout and the platform records the payout ledger entry.
If a payout fails, the amount remains available unless another valid hold applies.
Fees and deductions
Provider fees, bank charges, tax or withholding may apply. The statement should identify any deduction known to the platform. An artist remains responsible for personal tax obligations unless the law requires the platform to deduct or report an amount.
Delays and reviews
A payout may be delayed for provider outages, compliance checks, identity mismatch, sanctions screening, suspected fraud, chargebacks, copyright disputes, court orders or incomplete information.
We will not use a delay as permission to take the artist's money. The ledger must continue to show the status and reason.
